Security guard training is a must in the state of Florida if you want to become an unarmed security guard. The training qualifies you to obtain the Security D License.
The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is the authority that oversees the licensing division.
The authority has outlined certain guidelines. Therefore, before you go ahead and apply for the license, be sure to comply with those guidelines, which are :
- You must be at least eighteen years old.
- You must be a legal resident of the United States or a citizen. The person must have the authorization to work in the USA given by the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.A Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
- You must complete the security guard training successfully before you could apply for the license.
Required Training Experience
Before a candidate could apply for the security guard license, it is mandatory to cover at least 40 hours of professional security guard training provided by a training facility or a licensed security school approved through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
